Wargentin décrit (p. 213) un phénomène optique lors du 2e contact interne, peut-être dû à la présence d'une éventuelle atmosphère autour de Vénus.

Wargentin décrit diverses observations du passage de 1761 effectuées en Suède et en Finlande. Abo (= Turku) est l'ancienne capitale de la Finlande. Hernösand est située au bord du golfe de Botnie.
